Max GO Features Follow
Max GO is designed to track your fitness journey, encourage you to mind your health, and make it a fun experience!
The watch has a colorful 1.69" touchscreen with adjustable brightness and multiple watch face options.
When it comes to charging, it uses a built-in lithium battery and a charging cable that plugs into any USB port and just after two hours of charging you will be set to use it for up to 8 days! The magnetic attachment of the charging cable makes it even easier to charge Max GO!
The comfort of wearing Max GO is one of the important features considered when it comes to the design. The watch has a bendable, rubbery strap that allows snug wear. This way, a heart rate sensor that can be found on the back of the device can accurately measure your heart rate and you can be sure that Max GO will stay in place even while doing the most intense workouts. You can even wear it while swimming and diving up to 50 meters!
There are many features to explore and you can learn all about them here!
On the right side of the screen, you will find a button and by long pressing it, the device will turn on.
Once turned on, the side button can be used to turn on the screen, if you decide not to have your screen turned on by lifting your wrist (read more about this option further in the article). Simply press the side button once, and the screen will turn on.
If you press the side button twice, it will open a Program List. This list contains the following options: Exercise, Exercise Record, Heart Rate, Breath Training, Sleep, Stopwatch, Alarm, Timer, and Settings. You can browse through them by scrolling the screen.
Let us go back to the Watch Face for a moment, as there are a few other things worth mentioning.
You can choose between three different watch faces and they can be changed in the Settings.
Depending on the watch face you select, the options on it will differ.
On the default watch face, you will see the current heart rate and battery percentage in the top corners, the date and time in the center of the screen, and shortcuts to a workout session and step count screens, in the bottom.
If you select to have an analog watch as your watch face, it will display the current time and date. This is the only watch face that does not show some of your fitness tracking info.
The third watch face offers a shortcut to the Workout option in the upper left corner, and in the upper right corner, it will show the Battery Percentage. Right below you will see the time and underneath it, you will be able to read the Activity Duration, Burned Calories, and how many times you reached the Hourly Step Goal (the hourly step goal is 100 steps and the number displayed indicates how many times this goal was reached since 00 AM).
Looking at the picture below, it would mean that you were active for 20 minutes, spent 256 calories, and reached the hourly step goal of 100 steps 7 times since 00 AM.
While on any of the three Watch Faces, you can swipe up to open Quick Settings including the Do Not Disturb, Lift Wrist to Activate Screen, Screen Brightness, and Breath Training.
The first two options can be turned on or off by tapping on them, while the Screen Brightness option offers five different levels of brightness with each tap.
The Breath Training option allows you to select between three breath paces and the duration of the breathing practice.
It then guides you through each breath, until you complete the exercise.
You will see all received notifications by swiping down on the watch face. You can click on any notifications to see more details or delete one or all of them. (To have the notifications show on the Max GO, they need to be enabled in the app. Learn how to enable notifications in the app by CLICKING HERE!)
Swipe left on the Main Watch Face to see step count data, daily calories burned, and active minutes displayed in the Main Data screen.
Another swipe left on the Main Data screen will take you to the Heart Rate screen. This is where you can have your heart rate measured and see the daily Max and Min measurements.
Now, let's check out the other options on the Program List.
Exercise
The Exercise screen can be reached by tapping on the icon on the main screen, or by selecting Exercise from the program list.
Once you tap the Exercise option, a list of various activities will appear, allowing you to choose the correct workout you are engaging in.
If you select Outdoor Run, for example, Max GO will start tracking Exercise Duration, Real-Time Heart Rate, Real-Time Pace, Calories Burned, and Distance. This information will be displayed on the screen.
For other exercises, such as Pool Swimming, you will be asked to enter the number of minutes you plan to spend swimming.
To pause or cancel a workout session, press the side button of your Max GO. The timer will pause and if you want to finish the workout, tap the X icon on the screen.
To avoid accidental cancelations of workouts, you will be asked to long-press the X on the screen in order to end the workout.
Lastly, tap X to cancel the workout and exit the screen, or tap the green checkmark icon to save it.
Exercise Record
All of your recorded workouts will be saved under the Exercise Record and you can review them by selecting this option.
Heart Rate
The Heart Rate option allows you to have your heart rate measured by the Max GO sensor, located at the back of the device. As soon as you tap the Heart Rate feature, the sensor will begin measuring your heart rate.
Once complete, the watch will display the measured data. By scrolling down on this screen, you can also read data such as the resting heart rate and recorded resting heart rate over time.
Breath Training
As mentioned above, the Breath Training option allows you to practice breathing by following simple instructions on the screen and vibrations, provided by Max GO. You can select the pace that works the best for you, and the available paces are Rapid (3 sec), Normal (4.5 sec), and Slow (7.5 sec).
Sleep
The Sleep option shows how long you slept, along with a color-coded chart of what sleep stages you went through. It also breaks down how long was each stage of your sleep.
Stopwatch
If you like to use a Stopwatch during your workouts or for various reasons during the day, there is one on your Max GO. The stopwatch allows you to split the recorded time by tapping the clock icon in the lower left corner and you can also pause it, by tapping the pause icon in the lower right corner.
Max GO stopwatch can record up to 99 splits.
Alarm
You can create and store multiple alarms, using the Alarm option, and they can be set to automatically repeat on certain weekdays. Depending on your preference, times can be displayed in 12 or 24hr format.
Timer
If you need a Timer, tap on one of the 6 timer presets or create a custom timer length by tapping the + icon. Once started, the timer can be canceled or paused with the options at the bottom of the screen on your Max GO.
Settings
Last but not least is the Settings option. Through Settings, you can toggle on or off the Raise Wrist to Activate Screen and the Do Not Disturb options. Watch Faces can be changed here as well.
As mentioned at the beginning of this article, Watch Faces can be changed here as well.
The Dimming option allows you to set the Brightness level of your screen (it includes 5 levels to choose from), as well as the Screen-on time (5-20 seconds), and Automatic Brightness Control (lowers the screen brightness at a certain time).
Buttons to power off, restart, and factory reset the device (be careful, if you factory reset your device, all of your data will be lost!) can also be found in Settings, together with the About option, which shows the device name, software version, and MAC address.
Additionally, your Max GO can display Notifications such as SMS, Calendar, Email, and Call Alerts. You can turn these on/off through the Virgin Pulse app and learn more about other settings if you visit Max GO Settings in the App article!
