What is the Reasonable Alternative program?

At Virgin Pulse, we recognize that there's more than one path to wellbeing. If you have a medical condition, disability, or situational barrier that makes it difficult for you to fully participate in the program, we're here to help. We offer resources and support to provide everyone with equal access to the program and its benefits, ensuring that everyone has the opportunity to reach their goals.

Accessibility features:

The Virgin Pulse platform is designed with Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) in mind to ensure accessibility for everyone. In addition, there are tools available within PC operational systems and default apps on mobile devices that enable blind or visually impaired users to read text displayed on screens.

JAWS is a screen reader software program available for download that provides speech and braille output for computer applications on your PC. For more information, visit support.virginpulse.com and go to Account Information under General.

Reasonable Alternative Program

For members who are unable to participate due to a medical condition or disability, this program provides a reasonable alternative to earn the minimum standard of points.

This program applies to the following individuals:

• Members who are unable to achieve ideal targets due to a current or chronic medical condition
• Members who are unable to take measurements and/or track physical activity because of a disability

Please reach out to our Member Services team via chat or phone, and we will provide you with an "Alternative Program - Member Declaration" form.  You will need to print and fill out the form according to the instructions.

Once completed, please fax it to us at the number listed on the bottom of the form. Once the form has been received, it has been verified, and approved, an exception will be applied to your account and a confirmation email will be sent to you with further instructions.

To receive the daily 140-point maximum for activity, you need to enter or sync any activity to your account. Your activity can be manually entered on the Stats page, but it can also be tracked with a supported activity tracking device or app.

Please note that your Employer may have a different process for reasonable alternative exceptions, so it is a possibility that Virgin Pulse would refer you to your internal Human Resources department to complete your request.
