What are validated activity trackers and how far back can I track my activities? Follow
Validated Activity Trackers
Validated activity trackers are wearable devices that are compatible with the Virgin Pulse program. They monitor your physical activity and provide an objective indicator over periods of time. These devices also provide an easy way to download the tracking information to a computer or a mobile application.
If you do not have a validated activity tracking device, you can use one of the activities tracking mobile applications (Google Fit, S Health, Apple Health, Strava, MyFitnessPal etc.) installed onto a compatible smartphone.
Backtracking
It is recommended that you log into the Virgin Pulse app once a week to trigger a sync of your device. However, you must log in at least once every 14 days so that your steps/active minutes/sleep (if applicable) sync to the platform since it is only possible to backtrack data for the past 14 days. Any data outside of that 14-days window will not be transferred.
The 14-days backtracking rule applies to all types and methods of tracking and importing of data, including manual tracking and 3rd party apps. Keep in mind that you can manually add up to 7 days of steps data on Virgin Pulse mobile app and up to 14 days on Virgin Pulse web platform.
In practical sense, it does not matter if you manually enter your steps or use any 3rd party app or device to track and sync activity with the Virgin Pulse platform, the 14-days backtracking rule applies to all sources and you will not be able to transfer or get rewarded for more than 14-days of backtracked activities.
